At the small age of 5, I met a major accident while playing in a garden on a slope falling from a height about 16 feet, which caused me to be hospitalized for a month with major surgery on my broken face. Due to all this, I was brought up by my parents with utmost care for my injuries and least care for my education as I was very delicate and vulnerable to any stroke (jhapad) on my face by anyone, as slapping was very common by teachers in those days.

My parents would pay full attention for studies of my elder sister and younger brother very strictly. Although I could feel this differential behavior but was privileged of not getting beaten by them. Over the times I recovered well but despite being the neglected child, my school and college results ranked in distinction or fore first class. Along college I used to take tuitions of students, just to financially support my family.

After my commerce graduation in 1987, when I expressed my wish for doing CA course, then my father unaware of this course, enquired about it with his close friend. His close friend advise
‘Although this CA course is good, but it is not good for girls’. In those days we females belonging to eastern UP belt were not or hardly allowed for even coeducation.

But then my father’s friends’ this statement was not acceptable to me. First time I argued with my papa that how a highly reputed course can not be advisable to a Girl? I insisted that I will pursue CA course only. My father was silent for an hour and finally agreed and said as you wish.

In 1991, I became Chartered Accountant qualifying the exam from Mumbai. Got married in Varanasi where I have the credit of first lady CA practitioner of Varanasi in name and style of my firm M/s. But by the times these conventional deterrence also got settled by my regular persuasion and hard work.
