Happy CA Day !!
Story of a CA who has faced challenges in every step but his strong will and determination made him a known name CA Vikash Jain, a known name with an unknown story! Let’s dive deep in his journey and come out as an inspired individual as he always believes ‘Aspire to Inspire’
Born in a small town in the Tribal district of Karbianglong in Assam, Vikash grew up in a joint family. His brother and sister, both were doomed to be physically and mentally challenged since birth due to a condition called Cerebral Palsy. Since then he was groomed to be the backbone of the family sooner or later.
He had a compromising encounter with primary schooling as education was hampered because of relentless disturbance and lockdown in his district. Because of this, when he was in class 10, his family decided to move him along with his grandparents to Jodhpur, Rajasthan for higher studies.
While he was in Jodhpur and trying to focus on studies, fate was in a process of distracting him from studies. An unfortunate incident occurred back in his hometown wherein terrorist attacked and killed his father and uncle. That exposed his family to an irreparable loss and financial crisis. As a result of which entire family has to move to Rajasthan without having enough to lead a good life.
Vikash always dreamt of becoming a doctor which led him to opt for the Science stream in his higher secondary education. However, when he was in class 12, he changed his mind and decided to become a Chartered Accountant. Good that he turned his perspective, otherwise we would not have come across such a great leader in CA fraternity.
Where his aim of becoming a CA was so strong, his journey towards it was quite jerky. He cleared CA Foundation level without much difficulties. In CA Intermediate level, he cleared Group – 1 in second attempt and Group – 2 in third attempt. Hence, it tested enough of his nerves and patience. At that time, he almost made up his mind to give up on this profession. But,his principal CA Gyanendra Bafna infused enough motivation and encouraged him to continue and achieve his dream. Then, there was never looking back. Nevertheless he cleared CA Final in the first go, difficulties didn’t consider giving him discount. Meaning thereby, when we has appearing for his final exams, his sister passed away on the day of last exam of Group – 1.
Shattered by this incident, Vikash was not in a frame of mind to appear for CA Final Group – 2 exams. But his family, majorly uncle who is a CA forced him to continue giving the exams. Heavy hearted yet strong minded, Vikash appeared for Group – 2 exams and cleared the CA Final. He understood that his courage to stand against all odds, determination and hard work paid off and since then he is known as CA Vikash Jain.
After qualifying as a CA in the year 2003, he joined practice with his uncle in Surat, Gujarat.Then, in July 2005, he was forced to come to Ahmedabad, Gujarat due to some family needs. Heserved as a paid assistant in a CA firm in Ahmedabad for six months. But the entrepreneur inside him was constantly pushing him to do something of his own. This is where he started his own practice in the year 2006
In the year 2009, he merged his firm with his close friend’s firm Hitesh Agrawal & Co. This was the foundation stone of V C A N & Co. which was co-founded by three friends CA Vikash Jain, CA Hitesh Agrawal and CA Vinod Agrawal. They kept on building their practice by constant efforts and sheer dedication. Today, V C A N & Co. is a known name in the circles of Ahmedabad and surrounding having offices across the country with a team of 200+ people.
In the same breathe, he always longed for giving back to the profession as he strongly believes that whatever he is today, is only because of the two precious letters before his name i.e. “CA”. Vikash started participating in various sub committees of Ahmedabad Branch of WIRC of ICAI.
In the year 2013, he contested for the elections of Ahmedabad Branch and won the election with great love and affection of members at Ahmedabad Branch. He served as the Treasurer, Secretary, Vice Chairman of the Ahmedabad Branch and Chairman of the WICASA Ahmedabad from the year 2014 to 2016.
Once again, in the year 2016, elections were there and our dear Vikash Jain was here. He was elected with the highest number of votes and became a member of the Managing Committee. Then he was also unanimously elected as Chairman of Ahmedabad Branch for 2016-17. At that time, Ahmedabad Branch was adjudged as the Best Branch in all over India by ICAI.
After completing his term as a member of the Managing Committee, he contested for the Regional Council election and to no surprise, he was elected as a Regional Council Member with the highest ever votes in WIRC.
Other than being a practicing CA and active association with ICAI, he is a keen mentor and diligently spreads words of wisdom and motivation to the youth. Besides all these, he is an avid speaker at various platforms and takes up lectures on technical and motivational topics. Apart from professional connections, he is also very active in building a social connection. This can be envisaged by his service as a Secretary of Rotary Club of Ahmedabad Airport and as a Treasurer of All India Samta Yuva Sangh.
After knowing about his journey, we can say that ups and downs are the part of one’s life. We should not give up and lead with hope because “When the going gets tough, tough gets going!!”
